"Hello, I'm John! I graduated from the University of Virginia (UVA) with a degree in Philosophy and a minor in Mathematics. I have four years of experience tutoring others in a 1-on-1 setting, specializing in the SAT, ACT, and PSAT exams. I tutor all sections of all of them. Specifically, I tutor the Digital SAT Reading and Writing sections (a.k.a. English, ELA, or SAT Verbal section) and the Digital SAT Math section (previously Quantitative section). Additionally, I tutor the ACT English, Math, Science, and Reading sections.

I regularly help students improve 100-200+ points (SAT) within 8-15 hours of focused preparation and by 4-7+ composite points (ACT) within a similar time-frame.

I do so by emphasizing certain repeatable strategies that help students get into the minds of the test-makers and start to notice the underlying patterns of the exam. Additionally, I provide individualized feedback catered to students' specific strengths and weaknesses, which consists of both live feedback as well as targeted assignments. I try to do all of this within a patient, encouragement-filled learning space.
