"Hi, my name is Alex, and right now I'm working towards the career of my dreams: being a school counselor. I'm passionate about education and helping others learn! I truly believe that with patience and encouragement, anyone can learn just about anything.
I am a University of Connecticut graduate of 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Sciences. I graduated Cum Laude with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 and a major GPA of 3.8. It’s now 2025 and I'm currently in my second semester of a UConn Master's program in Educational Psychology, specializing in School Counseling. For the first semester I earned a GPA of 4.0.
I’ve gained many years of tutoring experiences through working as a special education paraeducator/tutor at Simsbury High School for two years. I provide one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse needs, implementing learning strategies based on their IEPs and 504s to help them succeed academically and socially. Oftentimes I would be in the general education classes with the students, supporting them directly while the teacher focuses on the whole class. Prior to my time at Simsbury, I was at Batchelder Montessori School in Hartford as a teaching assistant for a year supporting elementary and middle schoolers.
I’m available for tutoring in Math (basic math, pre-algebra, algebra, statistics), History (middle school, 9th grade, 10th grade), Science (middle school, physical science, biology), high school and college-level Social Sciences (psychology, sociology, anthropology), and Study Skills. This includes broad and isolated topic lessons on these subjects, homework and project completion, and studying for quizzes/tests. Please note, my cancellation notice is 24 hours.
Whether you're a parent looking for a tutor for your child in grade school, an undergraduate student, or just want to learn more about a subject, I can help! Please don't hesitate in reaching out with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you or your child reach their educational goals." less...
