"I am currently a high school senior and in the fall of this year I will be attending New York University majoring in Economics, along with being a student athlete. Even though I am a senior in high school I already have much tutoring experience under my belt.
My first tutoring experience came in the 10th grade when I joined Mu Alpha Theta which is my school's math honor society. Here we learned methods of tutoring more specifically I learned how to become personable with students who were my age and struggling with concepts in the field of math. I have been apart of this experience for the past three years.
Additionally, in the summer of 10th grade going into 11th I joined a company known as EsStemmials where I taught various STEM topics ranging from DNA replication to AI programming. In this experience I became familiar with a classroom setting and teaching to younger children aged 3-14. I learned that there are so many different ways people interact each other despite the age gaps they might have. I also strengthened my skill of problem solving and conflict resolution. Working in a classroom setting it is inevitable that arguments and behavior issues will occur, understanding where each student is coming from and taking steps form there is the best way to establish a better sense of community.
Lastly, I have experience coaching with regard to tennis. I began my own company where I would run tennis camps for children who wanted to get more involved in the sport but on a cheaper scale. I am a national level tennis player and using my expertise in such a way where I taught the sport from a coaching perspective as opposed to a player perspective. I understood how to deal with the different skill sets students had and how to become personable with each student." less...
