"I have a Ph.D. in Engineering from UC Berkeley and have been tutoring students since I was in graduate school. My approach to tutoring is based on first understanding the student's strengths and then building a bridge from those strengths to the area of study for tutoring. I draw upon my wide experiences to provide real-world examples that pertain the subject at hand to help the student make additional connections. My favorite part about tutoring is seeing the student have that "Ah Ha!" moment when it all clicks and becomes easier.

My grandpa was a math professor who taught using tangible examples to help explain the concepts in a concrete manner. He was my first math teacher and I have continued his legacy with my own kids and the students I tutor. Rather than drill on rote procedures, I take the time to explain the "why" behind each step of a problem and ensure that the student understands before moving on. Furthermore, my tutoring experience and engineering training help me to spot areas of systemic challenges and then zero in on those areas for additional attention.
