"Hello! My name is Fred! I graduated Cum Laude from DePauw University in 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Geoscience and a minor in Physics. I believe that one of the best ways for a student to succeed is to have an academic support system, including teachers, parents, friends, and tutors that are able and willing to go above and beyond. A successful student needs motivation to learn the material, but it can be quite difficult to stay motivated if the student isn't getting all the help they need.

I believe in a flexible learning style. We all don't learn the same way, and therefore teachers and tutors should be able to teach topics in multiple ways. Therefore, I have multiple teaching and tutoring styles, whether it involves demonstrations, working out problems alongside the student, the employment of visual aids, or creating my own problems/questions for students to answer. Finally, both the student and I will know that they have mastered a subject when they can explain concepts to me, and this is the end goal for every student for which I strive.

I have served as a teaching assistant for 3.5 years at Florida State helping students achieve success in the classroom. Problems for which I tutored involved Algebra, Calculus, Physics, and Python. I also tutored and led study groups on a variety of topics throughout my undergraduate education. I found that I was able to tutor a student best after I made a personal connection with them to better understand their strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. This process requires both patience and persistent, but the end results were always worth it. I am very relaxed and friendly, and easy to get to know!

Last, I understand that both students AND teachers are constantly learning.
