"About Me
My name is Dan, and I have a deep passion for teaching math and physics to students eager to learn or needing additional support and motivation. I hold a Master’s degree from Cornell University, an Ivy League institution, and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Texas at Austin.
I have extensive experience teaching math and physics to high school and undergraduate students. Before pursuing my graduate studies, I worked as a high school physics teacher, a role I truly loved. In addition to teaching, I coached talented students for national and international physics competitions. During my Ph.D. studies, I taught physics courses for both physics majors and non-physics majors, focusing on making challenging concepts accessible and engaging.
My background in physics has provided me with a strong foundation in various areas of mathematics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, probability and statistics, and more. Success in physics is deeply intertwined with a solid grasp of these mathematical tools. I am also familiar with preparing for standardized tests like the SAT and GRE, having excelled in the physics and math sections during my own academic journey.
What I Offer
I provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring sessions designed to address your specific needs. My approach focuses on helping with particular challenges, such as solving problems, preparing for exams or tests, assisting with homework, and clarifying difficult concepts. Rather than teaching subjects from the ground up, I work with students who come to sessions with specific questions or areas they need support in, ensuring our time together is focused and productive. All classes are conducted in English, and I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment to help you achieve your academic goals." less...
