"I have taught at the college and University level for 20 years. I have experience with algebra and calculus-based introductory physics courses, honors physics and modern physics. I have taught at a residential high school for the past five years.
I enjoy hands-on cooperative learning activities with Physics. Relating concepts to real-world applications exposes students to connections between the classroom and their everyday lives. I particularly enjoy developing an understanding of a student's strengths and skills in problem solving. Physics is particularly unique in High School courses because success relies on language skills (word problems), algebra/calculus, trigonometry, geometry, abstract reasoning and disciplined problem solving. I try to guide students to make connections between different "blocks" of course material and to see the myriad applications of core concepts.
I am very experienced in teaching physics. I enjoy helping students develop their skills and understanding of diverse concepts so that they can communicate it to others and demonstrate it on assessments.
I look forward to meeting you and to getting you on track for success in your pursuit of knowledge." less...
