"Hello! I'm David, an accomplished music tutor with a passion for sharing my knowledge and experience in music production, composition, live electronic performance, and music technology. My educational journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Music from California State University, Long Beach, a Master's degree in Music Composition from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and a Doctorate in Music Composition from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

I've had the privilege to design and teach university courses on electronic music composition and music technology. I've created and performed my own music all over the U.S. As a seasoned studio manager who has also provided live sound for hundreds of performances, I can offer practical insights into equipment and the music industry. I've organized concerts and collaborated with film producers, dancers, and visual artists.

One of my key strengths as a tutor is my dedication to nurturing creativity itself. I believe in helping students find their individual artistic voice and fostering its development. Overcoming writer's block or discovering your creative flow can be challenging - but with my guidance it becomes an achievable goal.

In terms of technical skills, I'm proficient in Ableton Live, Logic Pro Tools, Reason, Max/MSP - even creating custom synthesizers in Max/MSP or C/C++. Additionally I've worked extensively with various MIDI controllers and studio hardware. I'm also proficient in piano and voice.
