My name is Jim S and I have 20 years experience in the education field. I understand the struggle that many students face as they endeavor to accomplish academic goals. My aim is to help students to grow in their understanding of their particular subject and also as thinkers. To put it another way, grades are important but the ability to reason is equally important.

I have successfully trained young minds according to this model across a wide breadth of backgrounds and beliefs including, special needs children, English Language Learners, and youngsters to adults. I am a Virginia certified teacher in Math, Social Studies, Health and Physical Education.
