"My name is Julie Lucas and I am a certified elementary education teacher and literacy interventionist. I am currently teaching in an elementary school and providing reading intervention to students in grades K-5. In addition, I have privately tutored students in all grade levels using the Wilson Reading system, Structured Literacy and multi-sensory learning, all of which are designed to meet the needs of struggling readers.

With more than 12 years experience as a teacher and private tutor, I bring patience, skill and adaptive techniques to my reading instruction. Direct, step-by-step instruction, practice to mastery and continuous review of phonics concepts are the cornerstone of my reading instruction. But most importantly, I strive to make learning enjoyable so the children with whom I work are engaged, motivated, and excited about learning.
