"I am an experienced teacher and have worked in a variety of school settings since 2006. I graduated from Gonzaga University then went on to Seattle Pacific University to earn my Masters of Education in Literacy and my K-12 reading endorsement. I have taught middle school language arts and reading intervention as well as elementary reading intervention, where I worked with small groups of students below grade level in literacy, including students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities.

I am experienced in administering individual reading assessments in order to understand a student's reading level and gain insight into their strengths and areas of struggle as a reader. I believe in a balanced literacy approach incorporating all components of reading into my lessons (i.e., phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary development and comprehension).
