"I am a current English PhD Candidate at New York University, where I teach Foundations of English Literature to English Major undergraduate students. I have an MA in English from the University of Pennsylvania, where I taught in the Africana Studies Summer Program, and an MA from Villanova University, where I taught Medieval to Early Modern Literature and Narrative Television. Along with my extensive experience teaching at the collegiate level, I have published two academic articles in high profile, peer reviewed journals and have given extensive conference presentations—most recently, I was invited to give a short talk at the Harvard Medieval English Colloquium, which took place on April 25th, 2024.
My favorite aspect of teaching and tutoring is offering students hands-on, practical support to help them overcome reading comprehension and writing challenges. I am particularly skilled in assisting students develop their vocabularies and reading practices, as well as hone their writing skills (I received a perfect score in writing from my GRE, and love helping students with grammar, essay structure, creative/narrative writing, and college applications). I also have a stellar track record helping students understand and synthesize abstract, dense, and highly theoretical texts and concepts.
As a tutor, I am enthusiastic, supportive, and committed. I love teaching, and my positive approach to learning includes the belief that students can learn at their own pace, while also learning a lot—and enjoying the process." less...
