"I am a registered nurse and current nurse practitioner student who has worked at every level of nursing. I started as a CNA for 10 years prior to LPN school. After working as an LPN for 6 years, I went back for my RN, and a few years later my BSN. I additionally have my associates degree in applied science. I graduated summa cum laude from Missouri Western State University (Go Griffins!) with a 4.0 GPA. I additionally was the class valedictorian of both my LPN and RN classes with a lifetime cumulative GPA of 3.95. I additionally received a Sigma Theta Tau Nurse Manager Certification in 2022.

I discovered my love for teaching through precepting BSN students for their Capstone projects, precepting students in a clinical setting, educating my patients, and tutoring classmates and co-workers. I enjoy breaking down complex ideas/themes/theories into more easily understood pieces. I love facilitating my students in "connecting the dots" by helping them gather each piece to the puzzle to create a comprehensive picture. My professional experience lies in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including medical surgical nursing, family practice (emphasis on pediatrics), case management, and population health.
