"I am a second-year college student majoring in Business Administration with a minor in English at the University of Washington. My teaching philosophy is student-centered; I believe in catering strategies and content to the student's needs.

This summer, I have been working as an in-person Science Tutor, teaching small groups of students ranging from 6th to 8th grade. Initially, I had trouble designing content that 6th graders could understand and that 8th graders wouldn't find too easy. I quickly learned that by teaching one topic and explaining it in a multitude of ways (basic and complex), I was able to engage both the older and younger audience.

This Fall, I look forward to returning to college as a First Year Program Leader and a CLUE Writing Tutor, where I will be guiding freshmen through their first year and providing essay feedback for my peers." less...
