"I am a science educator with over 12 years of teaching experience. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University where I majored in Lyman Briggs Human Biology. I earned my Master's Degree from Wayne State University where I majored in Secondary Education. I am certified to teach students in grades 6-12 with the following endorsements: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth/Space Science, and Integrated Science in multiple states.

I have taught at various schools, both in-person and online. I have experience teaching IB, AP, and regular education courses.

I have experience working with many different types of learners. I have had great success working with students that have different learning needs, such as those with IEPs and 504 plans to gifted and talented students. I take a student-centered approach to my teaching and I help the student learn the material through discovery and questioning whenever possible. I feel this allows students to take ownership of their knowledge which often cannot be achieved with rote memorization. Additionally, I try to show students how the science concepts being studied relate to their everyday lives when possible to aid in retention of information.
