"Hi! I'm Ally, a cum laude graduate from Miami University with a degree in Biology, Pre-Medical Studies, and Spanish. While my degree focuses on human sciences, my experience extends to tutoring multiple subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, Spanish, and English. My background has helped me develop strong critical thinking and communication skills, which I apply in tutoring to help students better understand and retain new concepts. I also have practical experience in biological research, having earned certifications and co-authored research articles. This experience allows me to bring real-world insights into my tutoring, especially in the sciences. I believe that showing students the practical applications of what they’re learning makes the material more engaging and relevant. For example, I start each lesson with an introduction that connects the material to something students can relate to or find interesting. This sets a positive tone for the session and sparks curiosity about the topic.

With 2 years of experience tutoring elementary students in reading, writing, and math, as well as 2.5 years tutoring college students in group settings, I’ve worked with students at many levels. I understand that every student learns differently, and I tailor my methods to suit their needs.
