"I believe that all students can be successful and confident in their learning; we just have to find the right tools. Learners are all different. As an instructor, I learn from my students when they ask questions and help me to understand where I make assumptions about comprehension. So I approach learning as a partnership. My students must trust me enough to be honest if they understand the material. I work to develop critical thinking skills that students can then use in all subjects.

I have experience in not only teaching science, but teaching learners of all levels. I have training in ESL (SIOP), differential education, honors and AP science instruction. I have developed multiple levels of curriculum for the courses I teach. This includes different assessment to evaluate student learning and comprehension.

I have over 20 years experience in teaching Biology, Environmental Science, AP Environmental Science. I am trained for both MYP and Diploma-level International Baccalaureate Science. In addition, I have taught middle school physical science. I have been rated highly effective by the Colorado State Teacher's Assessment Rubric. I am also a past Colorado Science Teacher of the Year nominee.
