"Hello! My name is Alex. I have a strong passion for computer science and education. I have multiple years of experience in the field, including as an Infrastructure Automation Engineer at a reputable brokerage firm (as well as completing a summer software development internship at the same firm prior), Founding Software Engineer and Principal Software Architect at an artificial intelligence marketing start-up, and as a freelance programmer including automating financial securities trading scripts, etc. I also have several years of tutoring experience. I graduated from the City University of New York - Queens College with a bachelor's degree in computer science, with a 3.99 GPA. I also completed a Data Science fellowship through the CUNY Tech Prep program.

I am confident in tutoring a variety of computer science topics, with a particular expertise in Java and Python (including libraries such as NumPy and Pandas). I am also well-versed and can also provide guidance in databases/SQL, JavaScript, C++, C, Terraform, as well as general programming/ computer science concepts including theory courses such as introduction to computer science, data structures, algorithms, etc. I am particularly adept at troubleshooting code and helping complete projects/assignments, but can also provide thorough guidance in understanding concepts in order to improve test scores (including AP computer science for high school students and any exams for college-level courses). I have also taught multiple students that are completely new to programming from the ground up.
