"My name is James A. I'm from Wilmington, NC and I studied Spanish at college. I graduated in 2022 and I studied abroad in Colombia in 2018 and 2019. I am very passionate about language and love teaching Spanish and English! I tutored all levels of Spanish at my university for 2 years and have tutored/taught Spanish and English online for the past 6. My dream is to one day move back to Colombia with my family and teach English as a foreign language!

My goal here on Wyzant is to teach and tutor Spanish/English to anyone who would love to learn and/or practice speaking. The things I am most passionate about are: God, I enjoy going to church with my wife and family, glorifying God in everything I do, and reading his Word and growing as a follower of Christ. I also run, play videogames, speedcube, play sports like table tennis, ultimate, soccer, tennis, and disc golf. While I am passionate about many things, Spanish is near the top of the list. Last but certainly not least- my teaching style: one of the most important things in my eyes to have fun and to encourage! I try to get to know each student for who he/she is (their hobbies, passions, learning style, etc) so that I am able to tailor my lessons to the student and teach in a way that lights a spark in their eyes. In addition, I try to lift every person up with words of encouragement and affirmation.
