"Hi, I'm Madison! I graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2024 with a Bachelor's degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology and minors in Psychology and Earth & Planetary Sciences.

I scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT/ACT and can tutor all of the sections on these tests. My scores are 1490/1600 on the SAT (740/800 reading, 750/800 math) and 35/36 on the ACT (35/36 English, 33/36 Math, 36/36 Reading, 34/36 Science). Additionally, with AP scores of 5 in psychology, calculus, microeconomics, macroeconomics, and statistics, along with rigorous college coursework, I am well-suited to tutor many subjects. My tutoring experience includes more than 900 hours of online lessons focused on test preparation and high school/college level coursework. I have helped dozens of students improve their SAT/ACT scores, allowing them to get into the colleges of their dreams and qualify for lucrative scholarships.

My love for tutoring began in high school, in which I would teach my friends math topics to prepare them for their tests. I helped my sister gain confidence in our AP calculus class by showing her how to work through complex problems. My approach involves creating plans for students based on their starting point, and I use practice tests as a metric to gauge their process. I utilize organizational strategies that make it easy for the student to reference the content from our meetings. Every student has their own digital folder that includes the notes and worksheets we work through during our meeting.

Being a successful tutor requires fostering a student's thought process. Usually, we will walk through a problem together, and I will show multiple ways to solve it. Then, after determining the answer, we will go through our steps. An important part of learning is pattern recognition, so I make sure to focus on how we know which methods we use to solve the problems." less...
