"Hello Everyone! My name is Elias C. and I graduated with Honors from SUNY Oswego in 2019 with a major in History. Throughout my college career, I worked as a part time Substitute Teacher and Teaching Assistant for World History 102. My main focus within 20th Century World History is the rise of totalitarianism and violence within the Soviet Union. While my thesis work was dedicated to Russian Totalitarianism, I was enrolled in several other European and American History courses that broadened my knowledge of History. While working as a Teaching Assistant, I ran several review sessions for over the course of two semesters. Within the SUNY Oswego History Department, I was awarded for presenting at the 40th annual Quest Day in which I discussed my research and writings to professional Historians and authors for critique and review. I love to teach because I have always had the strong desire to help others. As I have made my way through life, I found that teaching was the best platform and career choice to accomplish that desire. Teaching brings out my best qualities. It forces me to stay attentive, communicate, reason, and lead. I would love to help anyone who really feels they are struggling within this topic. I pride myself on making the "boring" concepts feel more alive and interesting because I can connect modern life to the past through film, art, and the media.
