"Oh, I can't write," is the number one response I get when I tell people I'm a writer and writing teacher. Indeed, writing is a specialized skill, but it is not one we are either born able to do or not. Just like all forms of communication, each of us is capable of doing it. How good we are; how comfortable we are; how confident we are-----that's all just a matter of how we were taught.

I teach writing as doable no matter the audience or the purpose. As a former college professor, I specialize in academic writing. However, I have written professionally and creatively for over 20 years including being featured in the New York Times, Bloomberg, and on NPR. This combination of academic and real world experiences gives me a relatable and practical approach.

As a teacher and coach, my goal is to find ways that work best for you. I can help with high school assignments; college essays; personal statements and supplemental college app essays; business writing; and personal writing amongst other types of communications. I am experienced in teaching English as a Second Language. Also, because writing is such a strategic skill, I am proficient at helping students/clients develop solid study skills and effective executive functioning habits.
