"I enjoy all things music! I have extensive experience in piano, conducting, composing, music theory, and music editing. I graduated summa cum laude from Wheaton College with a Bachelor's degree in piano performance and music composition. I am currently working towards a double master's degree in piano performance and choral conducting from the University of Cincinnati. I have given piano recitals nationally and am comfortable with repertoire from every music period. I have been teaching piano lessons to students of all ages and experience levels for nearly a decade. During my undergraduate studies, I worked as the teaching assistant for Grammy-nominated composer and theorist Shawn E. Okpebholo, and am currently working as one of his music editors. During my graduate studies, I am working as a teaching assistant in the music theory department at the University of Cincinnati. My compositions have been performed by some of the top collegiate ensembles in the United States. Additionally, I have experience conducting world-renowned ensembles and am currently a member of the internationally-recognized Chamber Choir at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
One of my greatest passions is to share the joy of music in others. My goals in teaching are to meet students at their individual levels, promote a well-rounded musical education through multi-faceted teaching, and most importantly, instill a life-long love of learning. I am equally comfortable teaching piano, music theory, conducting, composing, and music history. I primarily utilize a classical, Socratic approach to teaching, as I find the most joy in teaching and learning comes from the journey of individual discovery.
I am easy to reach and will always respond as soon as possible. Feel free to contact me for any additional information or to schedule a lesson!" less...
