"I have been teaching and tutoring students in French and English for over 25 years. I have taught students as young as four and as old as senior citizens. Of those 25 years of experience, 14 of them have been online, so I'm quite comfortable working with students in an online setting. In fact, I tutored a Brazilian high school student last summer to help him prepare for his American high school studies, using Skype and screen share, so online is absolutely do-able. I have 19 years' experience teaching English/ESL and approximately 14 years' experience teaching French. My BA is a double major in English and journalism, and my MA is in French. I was also a high school English and French teacher, an English Department Chair, and part of Project SMaRT, an educational technology group. I currently teach French at a state college both in the classroom and online.
What is most enjoyable for me about tutoring is watching the progress students make, particularly those with no prior knowledge. Seeing and hearing students begin to correctly use their knew language is quite amazing. Furthermore, I love interacting with students of all ages. I encourage students to read in the target language ASAP as it's a wonderful way to assimilate new vocabulary in a more natural manner. Even if you have never learned online before, it can be just as productive and maybe even more so. Feel free to contact me with questions or concerns. I hope to hear from you soon." less...
