"My name is Kara. I went to UW-Eau Claire and received my bachelors degree in elementary/special education. I am certified in elementary education (grades 1-8), as well as in special education (learning disabilities and emotional behavioral disabilities). I also have experience working with children with autism. I worked for the Wisconsin Early Autism Project for 4 years. I am currently in my second year of teaching middle school special education. I enjoy getting to work with all children and helping them to reach their goals.

I am new to tutoring, however I am very excited to use the strategies that I have learned to help give students extra help that they need to be successful. As a tutor, I will ensure that I am designing each lesson to engage the student and address their individual needs.

I currently co-teach 6th grade ELA with the general education teacher. I have gained a deeper understanding of the content and acquired many ideas on how to adapt the content to meet learners needs. I am passionate about reading and writing and have many fun and engaging ideas to help students learn in these areas.
