"I have earned a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in Mathematics Education. I have been in the Mathematics Education field for well over 30 years, as both a teacher and as a writer and editor of math materials. Currently, I teach Algebra classes at our local community college. I have taught Basic, Intermediate, and College Algebra courses during different terms. I also have experience working in K-8 schools, teaching fourth through eighth grade math and Prealgebra and Algebra.

I have also been employed by a major educational publisher as a senior editor, working to bring new products to market. Currently, I work as a freelance editor/writer, contributing to various new mathematics publications for different publishers. I have written and/or edited publications for all grade levels, from Kindergarten through Algebra 2.

Learning math is far more complex than just memorizing a lot of facts.... in fact, it is not really about memorizing at all! Math is about learning how to think in different ways, and developing an attitude of confidence in one's ability to do math. In order to do this, a good rapport with each student has to be developed.
