"I'm Jessica, a former teacher and current college academic advisor with a Masters in Latin and Classical Humanities and a Bachelors in Classical Latin! I have several years of experience teaching high school in addition to experience tutoring college and high school students in both Latin and Ancient Greek.

Since starting Latin in high school, I have a developed a love for the language and for the Ancient World. I believe that everyone is capable of learning the language and strive to approach tutoring in a way to make material accessible to the individual student. I adapt my approach to teaching to meet student's needs. I'm comfortable with both the traditional grammar-translation approach to the Latin language and am well versed in active learning methodologies. I find that a mixture of both elements is often the most practical and effective way to tutor and meet a student's needs.

Additionally, I strongly believe that education and the approach to it needs to be engaging, fun, and relevant- otherwise there's little incentive for one to truly learn the material! i have found that when students find relevance and connection to their own lives, it often is one of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring for them.
