"I'm Michaela! I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and certification in Elementary Education (2nd grade to 6th grade). I am passionate about helping students feel confident in themselves and enjoy going the extra mile to help them in any way that I can. I have been working with students with learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities for three years now and have experience with the following: Assessing children's skills and learning needs, Designing individualized learning plans, and collaborating with parents and other staff members. I have experience teaching and tutoring students in English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Writing, Phonics, and Social/Emotional Skills.

As I am currently in my 3rd year of teaching, I have a lot of experience teaching English and the foundations of English. I have learned various research-based strategies that students can use to learn grade-level English content. When these strategies are implemented in lessons students can be successful in more complex areas.
