"I am a native New Yorker and I live in Manhattan. Over my academic career, I have taught students from kindergarten to the graduate level. I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring, especially in the humanities. I have had great success teaching students to write well.
I have also helped dozens of students sharpen their SAT and ACT essay writing skills. I can help students learn to become better readers and writers -- not just for upcoming tests they may face, but for life.
I've always been an avid reader and a wonderful writer. I love communicating my love of the written word to others. I majored in English while at Dartmouth, my alma mater. I also hold an M.Div. (Masters of Divinity) from Alliance Theological Seminary. I have taught writing and English literature to students at all levels and I have helped scores of young people compose better papers and essays.
History, of course, is greatly intertwined with theology (my graduate field of study) and the history of various faiths. My approach to getting students to better understand history is the same as that of my favorite history professor in college: dates and facts are important, but telling the stories of history is the most important thing of all. People should not be disconnected from the stories of history that have made all of us who we are today, for better or worse.
