"I am a senior studying East Asian Languages and Cultures (Korean) and Dance in Entertainment at the University of Southern California. I graduated from Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, IL in June 2015. I reside in Los Angeles.
I am very passionate about teaching and learning. When in high school, I tutored other high school students in all subjects: English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, and ACT preparation, however; my strongest subject is English. I also tutored my neighbor's children in middle school and elementary school level classes in varied subjects. I can also tutor in specialized areas such as dance or voice, as I have trained in ballet, jazz, and contemporary for the past 9 years and I have been training in voice for 4.
I love tutoring because I love helping others, and I think that readily attaining knowledge is the strongest attribute a person can have because no one can take an education away from you! I love helping students understand new concepts. I love to share my passion for learning with each of my students.
Algebra 1 is such an important subject because it is the basis of math. I have tutored many students in Algebra 1 before, and I have successfully completed all Algebra courses, so I have the skill sets to successfully tutor students in this subject area.
I scored within the 96th quartile on the science section of the ACT. I love science and I am proficient at working through questions with students. I have an ACT book with practice science questions, so I can provide this when meeting with students.
English is my strongest subject. In high school I took two AP English courses- AP Literature and AP Language, and I received a score of 4 on both of my AP tests for these classes. I love reading and writing and I love editing papers. On the English section of the ACT I scored within the 99th quartile. I can also provide practice ACT English questions/tests when meeting with students.
