"Hello! My name is Amelia and I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Anthropology at Western Illinois University. I am a proud member of WIUs Centennial Honors College and the Phi Sigma Phi National Honors Fraternity. Additionally, I serve as the Vice President of Finance for Alpha Sigma Alpha, where I oversee financial operations and fundraising.

I hold certifications as an American Heart Association CPR instructor and as an NREMT-B. This will be my third year working for a 911 EMS agency and I have two years of experience in EMS training. I am passionate about EMS work and have assisted many students in obtaining their Emergency Medical Responder certification. A unique service that I offer is tutoring for the NREMT exam. I passed my NREMT with the minimum number of questions in 30 minutes. I have assisted others in studying for this National exam and would love to help more EMTs get their National Certification!

My EMS background has given me a solid practical foundation for Biology and Anatomy. I am currently participating in honors laboratory research for my biology program. I have successfully completed Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Genetics, Medical Terminology, and Anatomy throughout my degree. I have incredible resources that help simplify these complex topics and study methods that will help students with long-term material retention.

My approach to elementary tutoring is to mix a child's natural passion with schoolwork. I know that science, vocabulary, writing, and reading can be overwhelming, especially at the elementary age level. I have found this method is the best way to help them retain information and have fun. Outside of tutoring my experience with children ranges from reading groups, volleyball coaching, and babysitting.
