"Hi, my name is Josiah and I have been a tutor multiple times throughout my career. My first tutoring experience was during my junior year in high school where I taught mathematics (algebra & geometry). Using an interactive approach to tutoring, I provide personalized instruction and guidance to help my students reach their full potential. My students appreciated that I would take my time to break down complex topics into easy to understand steps.

I graduated with my degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wright State University as a Trustee Scholar. Since graduation, I worked at Honda R&D for 3+ years designing car parts. At Honda I created part development plans, produced engineering drawings, set up testing, and performed calculations to make sure parts would function as intended. Through these activities I employed various levels of math and engineering. In addition, I was responsible for creating presentations to explain the engineering work that I was completing for my assigned parts. This gave me the opportunity to hone in on clear and concise communication which continued to improve my tutoring approach.

However, my interest did not stop at STEM. I have been an avid artist since I was a kid. My first inspirations were cartoons and anime but I soon realized that I needed to know a wide range of drawing topics to be able to produce something at that level. I specialize in concept art for characters and backgrounds and promotional art that I sell at trade shows. I teach dynamic drawing, anatomy and perspective.
