"Hey! I'm Matthew, I graduated from NC State with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Cognitive Science in 2018 and I’ve been tutoring since 2021, helping students of all ages through STEM, Test Prep (SAT, ACT, and others) and Computer Science tutoring.

Growing up, both of my parents were teachers and as a result I've had a love of learning and an understanding of the importance of education instilled in me from an early age. Some of my favorite things about tutoring are watching students grow and build understanding, as well as improving their confidence and giving them the same love of learning that I have. I think having that confidence and a good foundation is critically important to learning and understanding new material and I am always striving to show my students that they can succeed if they believe and put in the work.

As a software engineer with over 6 years of experience, I have a solid understanding of programming principles in several languages (primarily Python, Java, and C++) and can help you with any classes you have or projects you may be working on. I also have a thorough understanding of math concepts up through calculus, and can work with you to improve your grades or to study for tests. Speaking of tests, I’m also great at teaching material and test prep strategies for tests like the SAT and ACT (for both math and reading!). In high school I scored a 2140 on my SAT (730 Reading, 700 Math, 710 Writing) and a 33 on my ACT
