"Hello! My name is Rhea and I am committed to educating others in both the sciences and the humanities. I aim to bridge the gap between diverse disciplines to enrich student learning.
Educational Background
I attended Baylor University for undergrad and pursued a B.A. in Medical Humanities on the pre-medicine track. I graduated a semester early with a Magna Cum Laude honors distinction. Currently, I am furthering my education at UT Health Science Center School of Public Health, working towards a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a focus on Community Health, expected to complete by May 2025. After my MPH I will be attending medical school.
Tutoring and Teaching Experience
My teaching journey began as a Science Educator for the Waco, TX community, where I instructed 600 middle, high school students in science and assisted with college application preparation. At Baylor University, I served as a teaching assistant for the Foundations of Medicine course, where I revamped the curriculum to teach changes in the medical field and intentionally for students. Additionally, my research focused on educational paradigms, included founding a research lab and creating a course component to educate over 40 research assistants on the principles of quality research.
Scholastic Achievements
At Baylor I was on the Dean's List and successfully won grants for research. Additionally, I have maintained a consistent record of 'A' grades across a spectrum of demanding science courses—ranging from college-level biology, chemistry, and physics—to English courses such as American/British literature, Medical Humanities, and ethics.
Tutoring Approach
My tutoring is driven by a belief in the power of personalized, empathetic education.I create lessons that are engaging, effective, and tailored to the unique needs and interests of each student. I am dedicated to supporting high school and college students in their academic journeys whether it be in class work, test prep or college applications!" less...
