"I'm Kody! I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. I continued on to get my Master's degree from Texas A&M. I worked for a few years in software development, where I continued to hone my skills in physics, math, and statistics. However, I decided I wanted to work on a more personal scale. My personal approach involves adaptive lesson planning to address students difficulties/ strengths.
I eventually went on to be a teaching assistant at the University of Texas in Materials Science & Engineering for a one semester course. In this role, I led weekly lectures to a class of 40 students, ranging from freshman to senior, and held weekly office hours. We had 100% retention/ pass rate in this class! In addition, TAs at UT must go through an extensive certification/ training program that is followed up by student reviews.
I also tutored teammates on my cross-country/ track team at UH in algebra, geometry, physics, and up to calculus. In high school, I tutored friends/ relatives in middle and high school. Thus, I am comfortable tutoring students of various backgrounds, from middle school to college.
Ultimately, I feel that my diverse education/ working background gives me more perspective to relate to students in their own terms. Feel free to reach out and see if we would be a good fit!
