"Hello, my name is Dan! I have three years of teaching experience at Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, and have a BA in History and a Master's in Classics. I've always appreciated teachers and professors who make their classes interesting and fun, and it's an attitude that I try to replicate whenever I teach. Though I have most of my teaching experience dedicated to middle school students in 6th and 7th grade, I have acted as a thesis advisor for a high school senior, so I have experience with all grade levels. I have also played the trumpet since I was 9 years old, so I have a good amount of experience there.

Not only have I taught Ancient History for 3 years, I have also obtained a Master's in Classics from the University of Cambridge, studying under one of the most renowned Roman History historians in the world, Robin Osborne. I specialize in Ancient Greece and Rome, with a particular interest in mythology and how it interacts with history. I've spent time abroad in Athens for a semester, during which time I was able to visit the Parthenon, as well as the ruins in Olympia and Delphi. As such, I also have some experience in learning about archaeological practices.

I was nominated as a high school All-State jazz player for two years in a row (my junior and senior years, the only two I was eligible), and obtained the top spot in the top band both years. I've also been a member of a band for a few years, and I even have an EP with said band available on iTunes! I've also had the privilege of performing twice with renowned trumpet player Wayne Bergeron, who has performed with such artists as Gordon Goodwin and Maynard Ferguson, and in such titles as The Incredibles and Frozen.
