"My career as an educator has spanned from teaching Kindergarten and Special Education to being an elementary school principal, a professional development specialist, and finally a professor at the university level teaching aspiring teachers! I also have experience as an individual tutor, specializing in teaching reading to students who are experiencing challenges in traditional methods of instruction, often diagnosed with dyslexia. The research in the field of literacy acquisition has led to significant changes in our ability to teach all children to read. Yet, sometimes, in the complex demands of educational systems, students get lost and their specific needs are not addressed in a timely manner.
