"Hello! I'm Laura. I have been in education for 20 years. I truly enjoy making people successful in their educational goals. I taught high school English, leadership, and speech classes for 10 years. I was a coordinator for a GED program after my high school teaching years and taught English, science, social studies, math and test preparation to students of all ages for 8 years. My oldest GED graduate (so far) was 72! I currently tutor students in all high school curriculums like math, science, English, speech, and social studies. I also provide basic homework help and organization. I have many GED clients as well as college students needing a little help.
I LOVE watching my students grow and succeed by developing GREAT learning habits and a love for learning. Together we can make a specific, personalized study plan to get you or your student on the right path to SUCCESS!
I have a TOTALLY unique approach to mathematical concepts and can meet you at your current level and get you where you need to be. I am skilled in ACT and SAT math, GED math, Algebra, and Geometry.
My college degree is in English and I taught English at all of the high school grade levels. My skills include remedial reading, English as a second language, American literature, world literature, business writing, grammar, and essay writing.
One thing I remind my students is a quote, "in six months you will have six months of excuses, or six months of progress, the choice is YOURS!"
