"Hi, I’m Jessica! I graduated undergrad with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a focus on Biochemistry. Following college, I received a Masters of Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources Information Systems. Following my MBA, I went on to receive a Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences where I was a teaching and research assistant in mammalian physiology.

I was tasked with tutoring the first year graduate students in lecture style class sessions, small group sessions, as well as one on one personal sessions where I would create a lesson plan and review the previous weeks high yield material in a succinct fashion via a powerpoint presentation. Students were also able to email me with any specific questions they had or topics that they specifically had trouble understanding, and I tutored that way as well. I taught both online via zoom and in person for the year.

I am able to adapt my teaching style to each individual students needs and present the material in various ways that allow the students to grasp concepts better. I like to first find out what the student is studying and where their difficult areas are, come up with a lesson plan that we both agree on, and then get to teaching via various methods until we find one that is easily comprehendible by the student. I recognize that many students learn in different ways, and I feel I am malleable enough to be able to afford them a way in which they can enjoy the topics and be successful in their endeavors." less...
