"Hello! I'm Dacie and I have been a Special Educator for 11 years. I received my bachelor’s degree in history from Wellesley College and my master’s degree in teaching and curriculum from Boston University. I have always known that I wanted to work with children in some capacity. When my younger brother was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, I knew that I wanted to teach and support students with disabilities and academic needs. It was from there that I began teaching Special Education and have loved it ever since. I have taught English, Math, Social Studies and Science in Middle Schools within Massachusetts. In the classroom, I love supporting my students in all academic and social areas. I take immense pride in those moments when students can demonstrate the gains that they have made through their hard work.
I have tutored Elementary and Middle School students in one-on-one online sessions over the past year. I have tutored in elementary math and reading, middle school Ela and I have even tutored a student who attended an elementary math class in Spanish! My tutoring approach is to create fun and engaging lessons that help my students improve their skills. I use my training in Special Education to support all learners and offer support in an efficient manner. When in sessions, I take time to get to know my students and their best methods of learning. I offer support and guidance while also ensuring that there is time and opportunity for students to demonstrate their understanding of the content independently. At the end of my sessions, I ensure that students are leaving with the new skills that they have learned by having students summarize their time with me. I truly value the relationships and progress that I can experience while tutoring and I can’t wait to experience that with your family!
Feel Free to reach out with any questions or concerns on your tutoring needs. I'm happy to offer a consultation to discuss questions and needs." less...
