"This is Tina (she/her)! I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Chapman University with a BFA in Dance Performance and a BS in Business Administration. During my time at Chapman, I wanted to maintain my Japanese and decided to tutor on the side at our university Tutoring and Learning Center. I found myself really enjoying conversing with my fellow peers in Japanese. Being a Japanese American myself, I love sharing this awesome language with others and diving into the other half of my cultural identity.
I've been tutoring now for over 10 years now. My teaching style is very flexible, and I am highly adaptable to the given students' learning styles. Additionally, I am open to any resources provided by the student or his/her teacher.
I have been surrounded by the Japanese language throughout my entire life. Academically, I received a 5 on my AP Japanese test in high school and an 800 on my Japanese SAT subject test. In high school, I took Japanese language courses and am familiar with the Genki textbooks/resources.
