"I'm Joyce! In 2021 I graduated with a bachelors degree from the University of Connecticut in Physics with minors in Material Science Engineering and Astrophysics. I have been doing research since my freshmen year as an undergraduate on various topics that range from chemical engineering to galaxy evolution! I believe my hands-on experience gives me a fresh perspective to teaching and has given me the tool to relate abstract principles to every day life. My personal teaching philosophy is that understanding the applications to what is being taught makes learning much more lively and exciting!

I began tutoring while in high school and continued throughout college. At UConn I worked at a tutoring center and focused on helping students with Physics and Calculus. I would be available for 1-on-1 session but I also would work shifts where I had to balance working with multiple students. After I graduated from undergrad I spent a year studying Astrophysics at the University of Massachusetts where I was a Teaching Assistant and gave lectures and lead lab courses in Astronomy.
