"Hi! I'm Suhaib (pronounced: Su-high-b). I hold two graduate degrees in mechanical engineering (from the UK and the United States), and went to college for a degree in aeronautics. I love teaching, since I hold the view that it is an activity that goes both ways: you learn as you teach. I've been a university lecturer in the past for 2 years, and also tutored undergraduates at prestigious institutes including Cornell and Penn State, the latter being my alma mater.
Most of my teaching has been at the classroom scale, with at least 8-10 students present. The modalities of my teaching were mostly in-person, but also online as needed. While teaching, I try to grab students' attention toward fundamental concepts, and like to engage in a discussion on the topic for maximal communication and gauging the level of comprehension. I try to be structured when delivering the material, so that students stay on track and learning objectives can be achieved within the designated timeline.
I try to work with students who need extra help, and was always willing to go the extra mile as a tutor when students visited during office hours. Please feel to reach out to me with any questions and/or schedule a lesson." less...
