I find that people are more willing to learn when they can see the practical applications of the subject. In addition to explaining techniques and formulas, it helps to understand why each topic is useful and how to apply it in the real world during your everyday life.
I graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a degree in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Physics. After a few years working in industry as a Software Automation Developer, I returned to pursue my passion of teaching, earning a Masters of Arts in Teaching Mathematics from Boston University. I completed a student teaching practicum at Boston Latin Academy, where I was responsible for 2 sections of Advanced Algebra and 1 section of Precalculus.
The best way to learn is to practice and to have an appreciation of why the subject matters. I am willing to tutor anyone who has a strong desire to learn.
It is my goal to have students become proud of their achievement by pushing themselves to do their best. Students should come with a willingness to learn and a strong desire to improve. I am dedicated to providing help to those who seek it and helping students establish and maintain high standards for academic excellence." less...
