Hi, I’m Maddie! I graduated Johns Hopkins in May 2023 with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in molecular and cellular biology and a certificate in Global Health Studies. Throughout my time in college, I realized that as much as I enjoyed learning new material, it was the opportunity to connect with my professors and fellow students that truly excited me. I always do my best to remember this when teaching myself and do everything in my power to make the experience engaging, exciting, and fulfilling.

I am passionate about education and teaching and have been a tutor for over 8 years. I began teaching as a peer tutor during high school and continued to expand my knowledge and teaching experience throughout college, where I held positions as a peer tutor in science, a teaching assistant in laboratories, and a bilingual tutor in Spanish. While I particularly enjoy teaching math (algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics), science (biology, chemistry, earth science, elementary/middle school science), and SAT test preparation, I also have years of experience teaching English language, history, and Spanish. I have worked with students of all ages, from kindergarten to college students to adults.

As a result of my tutoring experience, I am flexible with different styles of learning and can easily adapt to various teaching styles that best suit each individual student and their subject of choice. I strive to create a comfortable, open environment for each student, where they feel at ease asking questions, addressing concerns, and demonstrating their learning. I welcome any resources, support, or suggestions that parents and students wish to provide as I want students to benefit as much as they possibly can from our lessons.
