"Hello! My name is Sabina, and I'm currently a student at Wellesley College pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Music. I have been playing the cello for the last 10 years and have experience in a wide variety of repertoire, receiving awards for music performance competitions. Additionally, I graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA and was chosen to be a National Merit Finalist in 2024.
My teaching methods typically go along with what the student is learning in school as I want to act as a resource for them to thrive in the classroom and cover any aspects of the material they don't fully understand. However, if the student is looking to get ahead, I can introduce the material in a way that isn't too intimidating and explain the concepts while easing them into the topic. Overall, my methods are modifiable according to the subject and adjusted to the student's individual needs and goals.
I have around two years of tutoring experience in mathematics with elementary schoolers through a volunteer program that taught children in unprivileged communities. I've worked one-on-one with students and in smaller groups of 2-3, individualizing the curriculum to match the pace of the student(s) and learning their strengths in the subject matter. I was always there to support them along the way and met with them once a week to answer any questions, explain concepts, and make learning an engaging and fun experience!
While I have the most experience in tutoring mathematics, I am open to tutoring in other subjects as well including English, Reading, Music Theory, Cello, and beginner Spanish.
Ultimately, I want to work with the students and their parents with whatever learning goals they would like to target. I would also love to receive feedback and am open to any resources or suggestions that can create a better learning environment. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!" less...
