"Hi! I'm Tara (she/her)! I graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University in 2017 with a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology, with a focus on adolescent development and trauma. While my love of learning never faded, going back to school after a 15 year hiatus had its challenges. I quickly realized that I had to create and develop good study habits AGAIN and it was not easy. My first job was also as a tutor for the local public school district and I found that helping folks learn in a fun and interesting way was really impactful. I continued to tutor throughout high school and young adulthood and created some great relationships and tricks and tips along the way.
In my current full-time position as a Youth Development Counselor, I develop curriculum, teach job-readiness classes, and do direct case management for high school and college-aged young people. I also love analogies and bringing real life scenarios into the sessions to help the points stick.
Everyone learns a little differently - one size does not fit all! I will do my best to tailor my tutoring to your learning style so that our relationship can flourish and you get the most out of your session.
