"Hi, I'm Prateek. I am a software engineer based in California. I graduated with a Bachelors in Computer Science from UC Irvine. During college, I tutored part-time for SAT, ACT and Computer Science topics. ACT and in specific ACT Science is quite a unique type of test. It does not rely on your ability to memorize subject material. Rather, core learning concepts such as contextualizing information, and understanding the question are far more important skills in excelling in the ACT Science test. My style of teaching aligns perfectly with this subject: I tend to not only teach the subject matter but also how to approach questions. In my four years of tutoring, I have helped my students increase their ACT Science scores by 25-30% on average. Personally, it is my favorite ACT subject, and I take quite a bit of pride on achieving a perfect score in it(36).

I currently work as a Software Engineer, where I write enterprise level code in JavaScript (React.js), Python, and Java (Scala) on a daily basis. I am proficient in 7 programming languages. However, I believe the most important thing about computer programming are the fundamentals, and that is what I teach to my students. I have helped students to master the fundamentals, which in turn allows them to learn programming languages, and apply them in school or work very easily.

My tutoring method comprises of the subject matter, the student's proficiency in the fundamentals, and the student's ability to learn.
