"Taylor has been helping students achieve their academic and admissions test goals since 2016. She has worked with families from an array of backgrounds, giving her experience working with students of diverse skill sets, learning styles, and goals. She believes that any student can achieve their academic goals if their unique educational needs are met, and she genuinely enjoys discovering how she can best meet those needs for her students. Utilizing her strong sense of empathy and listening skills, Taylor works with her students to create individualized preparation plans that ensure they maximize existing strengths while learning new skills. By providing her students an active role in the planning process, she helps them build confidence and decision-making skills – both of which are vital to competitive test-taking and general academic success.
Taylor started her tutoring career with an NYC-based company that specializes in providing educational support to underserved students; she still works there today in a variety of capacities including training other teachers and tutors, developing preparation curriculum for various admissions tests and K-12 subjects, and teaching and tutoring their students. Over the years, she has also tutored for various other companies and volunteer organizations, teaching students ages 5-45 in groups from 1-50.
A Texas native, Taylor’s K-12 years were dedicated to achieving high performance in both academics and the performance arts. Taylor went on to earn a BFA (with honors) in Musical Theatre with an emphasis in both dance and acting from Sam Houston State University. She now lives in NYC with her wife and their cat. In her spare time, she enjoys writing poetry, solving puzzles, and developing and performing in cabarets.
Please feel free to contact Taylor with questions or requests. She looks forward to learning how she can help you meet your unique academic goals!" less...
