"I'm Najay G and I am an alum of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. While there I studied Computer and Cognitive Sciences. In the midst of my studies however, I realized that I had both a deep passion and talent for writing and storytelling. So I spent much of my time developing those skills alongside my stem ones. So a started writing a lot. At first I struggled, but eventually developed a strong personal style that conveyed the information necessary while maintaining a solid prose. I also slowly gained mentors - journalists and writers - who guided me handily on my path. I learned, most importantly, how to leverage independent skill and personal experience in an advantageous, clear and concise writing.
I've been published twice outside of a school context: once through the New York Times as a contributor to the Opinion section and another through a local and now defunct magazine. I have also had to privilege of briefly serving as editor-in-chief of a local online magazine where I oversaw the release of 2 issues. I have a lot of experience with editing, writing, brainstorming and anything else to do with the entire writing process. I am also very cell versed in planning and structure.
I also used to be a substitute teacher and administrative assistant in a Philadelphia middle school. I also had the opportunity to work with students through the entire college application process from choosing schools, to writing and submitting applications. I have worked with hundreds of students over the years and edited thousands of essays and writings, so I am very practiced in the field." less...
